The Marantz PMD660 is a handheld version of the popular PMD670.

It represents a professional, full-scale digital recorder in a compact body. Equipped with XLR microphone input with Phantom power and -20dB attenuation the one-touch operation records to widely available Microdrives or Compact flash cards. Features include non-stop record with 4 hours of battery life, and an EDL marking system for creating new files on-the-fly during the recording for easy file selection during playback.

There is also an optionally available RC600 remote control which fits around a handheld microphone. This allows remote operation of Rec, Rec Pause &, Mark and connects directly to the PMD660 to simplify interview and news gathering.
