Marantz PMD 670
The Marantz PMD 670 is the second generation solid state recorder, recording audio directly as files to Compact Flash or Microdrive storage formats, which can then be inserted directly into a computer for editing and distribution. Building on the success of the PMD 680 and 690, the PMD 670 incorporates a range of additional features such as switchable sampling frequencies, USB and removable covers over the main control panel and media drive.
Featuring a brand new engine, capable of recording in the popular high compression MP3 format as well as MP2 and uncompressed linear PCM, the PMD 670 has the flexibility to be used in a wide variety of portable recording situations. In addition to variable bitrates (controlling file size and recording time), the PMD 670 has selectable sampling rates (16khz up to 48khz), for added control in both compressed and uncompressed recording.
The USB port allows for subsequent software upgrades and high speed direct download from the machine without removing the media, while lockable covers can be fitted to both the card slot and the recording settings, so an engineer or technical manager can set up the unit confident that changes cannot be accidentally made during use.
