Key:

Config:
Copier configuration, i.e. number of master / copy positions. 1-3 = one master position / three copy positions, 4C = four copy position slave unit, MD = modular system with individual master / slave units.
Copies per unit per week:
A rough guide to the number of C90 copies we recommend can substainably be produced per copy position (e.g. a 1 to 3 copier with a rating of 30 will be suitable for 3 times this amount or 90 copies). These ratings are based on a routine service once every 12 months. All these machines are capable of copying at a much higher rate than shown (e.g. a 16 times speed 1-to-1 copier will could produce up to 120 copies in an 8 hour day, but this will be in excess of its recommended workload in the long term and will necessitate more frequent servicing). Where shorter cassettes are used, the rating will go up proportionally, however, if very short cassettes such as C5 to C20 are used, excessive wear may be placed on the loading/eject and start/stop mechanisms, necessitating additional maintenance.
Speed:
Copying speed - number of times normal speed.
Ltd. Head Warranty
All the new copiers above come with a 1 year warranty for the unit (the Telex X-Gen has a 2 year warranty). Some units however have a different warranty applying to the heads e.g. 90 days.

General notes:

Duplicators without erase heads do not erase the cassettes and so only blank cassettes can be used. Even on machines with erase facilities it is good practive to bulk erase recycled cassettes before re-duplicating.

Duplicator maintenance to be carried out by the user includes cleaning the heads and occasional cleaning of pinch rollers and tape guides. This should normally be done every 10 copies with new cassettes and once every 25 copies with recycled cassettes. The use of high quality cassettes reduces the amount of oxide shed, gives better recording performance and reduces wear on the copier. The quality of the cassette shell itself is particularly important in high speed copying to maintain low wow and flutter and true azimuth.
