Universities
Portable solid state audio recorders are now an affordable item for universities running media or journalism courses thanks to the new breed of handheld recorders from Edirol and Marantz.
The Edirol R1 is a natural progression from the standard protable MiniDisc recorder and features built-in microphones as well as an external mic input on minijack. It records to either WAV or MP3 using standard Compact Flash cards.
The Marantz PMD660 is the professional upgrade to the R1 and features XLR Mic inputs with phantom power. Like the R1 it too can record to Compact Flash cards using either WAV or MP3 formats. The optional PRC660 case is a wise investment to help the recorder avoid the knocks and bumps of general use.
Another useful accessory for the PMD660 is the RC600 remote controller which connects to the recorder and provides buttons for record start and stop. It is designed to fit around the collar of any handheld microphone to simplify interview and news gathering work.
Don't forget our range of microphones, cables, CF cards, headphones and all the other accessories you may need.
The Graff Digitrax range of CD Duplicators operate at up to 52x speed and are great for copying audio or data CDs. They are available in either 1-1, 1-3 or 1-7 sizes and the two larger models feature a built-in HDD to save images of regularly used discs.
And remember we can also supply a whole range of visual products including the Edirol V440HD High Definition vision mixer, Sony HVR-Z1E HDV Camera, Plasma screens and more. See our Visual section for more details.
